At Acacia Ridge Medical, we want to make finding doctors in Robertson easy.

Our family medical practice in Acacia Ridge is conveniently located just a short distance from Robertson. We offer a range of medical services to cater for the whole family. If you live in the Robertson area, then our Acacia Ridge medical practice is closest to you. This is located in Shop 21a, 1150 Beaudesert Road – just a short distance from Robertson. Our second practice is not far either. It is located in Algester at 1/34 Algester Road, and it offers after hours appointments for your convenience. Our reception staff in either practice can help you with any enquiries you might have.

Our medical practice in the Robertson area has been open since 2006. This means you get healthcare from dedicated medical professionals, who have served your local community for over 10 years. We strive to reach the highest standards of medical practice. As a part of this, we have gained our accreditation with AGPAL. We have also aligned our standards with the Royal Australian College of General Practitioners.

We see to both scheduled and walk-in appointments. However, due to the business of our doctors, we cannot ensure that walk-in patients will be seen immediately. We strive to minimise our waiting times for all patients. It is important to remember that patients with emergency issues will be given priority. For your convenience, our onsite services are quite diverse. They include, among other things, pathology, paediatrics, pre-employment medicals and health assessments.

In addition to our other onsite services, we offer full body skin checks. These are done with leading-edge diagnostic equipment. Our doctors are experienced at performing procedures and excisions. As a result, these can be done onsite too. As a part of our commitment to family healthcare, our practice has doctors aligned with Mater Mother’s shared care program. This is a shared maternity care program designed to support women during pregnancy.

Our practice bills patients according to our own fee schedule. Standard consultations run for ten minutes and begin at $60. This fee does depend on the duration of the visit though. After hours consultations are billed at a slightly higher rate, beginning at $70. If you have a valid Medicare card or Allianz/Medibank OSHC, then your consultation will be bulk billed. That means you won’t be out of pocket.

What do I have to do to book an appointment?

Our admin team will walk you through the booking process. Simply give us a call on 07 3711 2880 or 07 3272 7330. Alternatively, you can book online. Our admin staff in both our Algester and our Acacia Ridge practices can book you in at either location.

Can you bulk bill my appointment even if it’s on a weekend or after hours?

We can bulk bill after hours and weekend appointments. However, we can only do this if you have a valid Medicare card or Medibank/Allianz OSHC.

Can I book an appointment if I have been seeing another doctor previously?

We welcome new patients in both of our medical centres. We strive to deliver convenient healthcare to Robertson residents. If you feel that our medical centre is a good fit for you, then give us a call.

Do I need to schedule an appointment if I only need another script or referral?

Part of our medico-legal obligation is to assess our patients before providing scripts or referrals. We need to make sure that you are getting the right care. As a part of this, we have to assess your health in person. Call our practice or book online to make an appointment.

If I need a Robertson doctor after your practice closes, who do I call?

Both of our medical centres have an agreement with the National Home Doctors Service to deliver after hours healthcare. If you need a doctor after the close of our practices, then call the Service on 13 74 25. They will send through a report of your consultation to our practice. We can then add this to you ongoing medical record.

I recently had a test done – can you give me my results over the phone?

Under the Privacy Act we are not permitted to give your medical results to anyone over the phone. This is a part of our strict patient confidentiality framework. If we need to discuss your results with you, then we will call you and schedule a face-to-face appointment.

What do I do if I have an issue with your practice?

We welcome the opportunity to hear any feedback you might have about your experience with us. If you are not happy with your experience, then let our admin team know. They will pass your feedback on to our practice manager. The manager will then discuss the issue with you and try to reach a solution. If you feel this is not acceptable to you, then you can raise your issue with the Ombudsman. You can access the office of the Ombudsman on 133 646.

Will your practice call me or send me letters informing me of healthcare services?

We will do this, unless you do not want us to. This is a part of our recall and reminder system, which is dedicated to providing preventative healthcare services. If you don’t want to be a part of it, then let us know when you attend your next appointment.

I would feel more comfortable seeing a female doctor – do you have female doctors at your practice?

We have female doctors available at both of our practices, seven days a week. If you have medical issues that you feel more comfortable discussing with a female doctor, then let us know and we can organise it for you.

How do I get a copy of my medical records?

Your medical records are a matter of upmost privacy. They are bound by strict patient confidentiality guidelines. You can usually get access to a copy by requesting one from our practice. It is important to note, however, that records do remain our property. Ask our friendly staff for more information.
